Carly Smithson is by far the best female vocalist on American Idol (Season 7). The media seems to be picking on her because she was a signed artist and won awards in Ireland. The show is supposed to be for amateurs, but we all know what happened last year with the amateurs... cough cough sanjaya cough cough.

I think that Carly will be in the top 3, possibly top 2, along with David Archuleta as a definite finalist and either David Cook or Australian born Michael Johns.
